Skills Funding Agency Course Directory Service: Case Study

The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department of Education to provide funding for skills training for further education in England, supporting over 1,000 colleges, private training providers, and employers with £3.7 billion of funding each year.

The SFA had been running a digital cataloguing type service for adult education, providing the public with detailed information from around 1000 learning providers on the education and training courses available across the country. SFA contracted Tribal to radically overhaul the service in order to improve efficiency and data accuracy while driving down cost.

The solution was The Course Directory Service, a comprehensive cataloguing system which features a central portal developed and hosted by Tribal.
