On July 11-12, SITS:Vision customers from around the globe gathered to celebrate our 18th annual conference at Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. SITS:Vision is our student management system for higher education and this year’s conference was the biggest yet – with a record number of 401 delegates.
We had a packed agenda over the two days, with product developments, 25 breakout sessions, a digital transformation panel discussion and the launch of our new platform, Tribal Edge. We also hosted a glitz and glam gala dinner, with an awards ceremony and music from The Brotherhood band.
We've already received some great feedback from delegates, with one stating that 'it was very informative and I feel I have taken a lot from it this year' and another saying it was a 'really worthwhile event'.
This year we wanted customers to get as involved as possible – so we set up exclusive social media competitions with prizes to be won, as well as giving them the opportunity to ask speakers questions live through Slido, our audience interaction tool. Our audience asked 292 questions over the course of the two days and voted 586 times in 64 polls.
Our digital transformation panel featured Eric Stoller (Inside Higher Ed), Jayne Aldridge (Kingston University and AMOSSHE) and Andrew Meikle (Lancaster University). This session proved to be hugely popular, with insights on digital technology and its evolving use in education. The panel then took questions about what digital will look like for higher education in the future, as well as how to get buy-in from senior leaders for digital transformation projects.
Our breakout sessions were packed to the brim, with topics including Degree Apprenticeships, Preparing for GDPR and Innovations in Statutory Reporting. A big thank you to all of our customer presenters who helped create our busy agenda!
During the final keynote of day one, Barbara Staruk (Managing Director of Product at Tribal) delivered a session officially launching our new platform Tribal Edge.
Tribal Edge is the new way to manage the student experience. It gives you the information you need, to help the students you love. It helps you meet the challenges of ensuring success across the student lifecycle, to thrive in an increasingly competitive market and meet the growing expectations of students.
Tribal Edge is modern, designed for the cloud, with the flexibility to work with any current student information system. It doesn’t just aim to meet student expectations; it aims to blow them away. Find out more about the first four modules - Tribal Edge.
The evening was celebrated with a black tie dinner and live music – plus our famous Twitterwall which saw our Tribal owl mascot becoming the centre of attention!
We also conducted an awards ceremony, where our customers and colleagues were nominated for their many achievements over the last year.
